Podcast #23: All about artificial intelligence in everyday study and work life
The podcast can be found on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and other popular platforms. You can also find our other podcast episodes on our website under the "Podcast" tab.
While it took Netflix over 3 years to gain 1 million users, ChatGPT broke this mark after just 5 days. These figures alone show that artificial intelligence has long since arrived at the centre of society and is no longer only used by IT experts. AI permeates almost all areas of our lives and has developed from an emerging technology into an indispensable tool that fundamentally changes and simplifies studying, everyday life, teaching and how we learn.

In professions where content is involved, you can either operate AI or be replaced by it. But you still need the expertise for the job. The requirements will not become less just because the simple tasks are outsourced to artificial intelligence.
Barbara Geyer, Head of the Master's programme in E-Learning and Knowledge Management
But where do we stand in the current development? What world view does artificial intelligence represent? And is there any way around the use of AI if we want to keep pace on the labour market, in teaching or even at university?
We answer these and other exciting questions with Barbara Geyer in Campus Talk. The AI expert also discusses the opportunities and risks of artificial intelligence and reveals her favourite AI tools.
She also has a few useful tips for students and pupils that can help with learning and scientific work with AI.
Behind-the-scenes
The podcast was recorded by Bianca Nastl, a member of the marketing department at Burgenland University of Applied Sciences and herself a graduate of the university's Bachelor of Information, Media and Communication programme: "It's both amazing and frightening how well artificial intelligence works nowadays. But in my opinion, there's no way around it: Chat GPT & Co is simply too useful in everyday life."
Barbara regularly updates her followers on current developments in artificial intelligence on her LindedIn account. And of course, AI is also an important topic in the everyday life of her Master's degree programme in E-Learning and Knowledge Management.
