Burgenland University of Applied Sciences and pro mente: Joint commitment for mental health
Eisenstadt, 1 August 2025 - Burgenland University of Applied Sciences is setting new standards in the area of promoting the mental health of its employees and students: After three successful "First Aid for the Soul" seminars, the university has now been recognised by pro mente as a certified company for mental health. The collaboration between Burgenland University of Applied Sciences and pro mente is thus bearing fruit and sending a clear signal in favour of an open and competent approach to dealing with mental health challenges in everyday working and studying life.
As part of the cooperation, employees were sensitised to dealing with people in mental health crises through practical seminars and enabled to act quickly and correctly in emergencies. The aim is to raise awareness and offer effective support to those affected. Georg Pehm, Managing Director of Burgenland University of Applied Sciences, emphasises:

With the certified first aider training programme for mental health, we as a university are setting an example for mindfulness and mutual support. In addition to providing high-quality training, we also aim to ensure healthy interaction. The cooperation with pro mente is a valuable step in this direction.
Georg Pehm, Managing Director of Burgenland University of Applied Sciences
The innovative commitment of Burgenland University of Applied Sciences emphasises the importance of anchoring mental health as a key topic in education and society in the long term. MMag.
