Summer colleges in Central and Eastern Europe

University of Applied Sciences Burgenland has been offering funded summer colleges in Central and Eastern Europe for 30 years.

In 2026, the following summer college is offered:

The project is funded by the Aktion Austria - Hungary. As it is financed from public funds, applications by students from ALL Austrian universities and universities of applied sciences are welcome.

Intensive language weeks that are fun

The International Business Relations degree programme at University of Applied Sciences Burgenland has been organising summer colleges lasting several weeks in various countries of Central and Eastern Europe since 1999. As the colleges are publicly funded, applications by students from all Austrian universities and universities of applied sciences are expressly encouraged.

The aim is to learn and improve language skills in local language lessons, partly through tandem lessons - one Austrian student learns together with a student from Central and Eastern Europe. In addition, the students gain an insight into the business practices of the host country through company visits and lectures. Excursions to places of interest are also part of the programme.

The programmes are funded, which is why the participation fees for students are particularly attractive.

If you have any questions, please contact Prof.in(FH) Mag.a Ludmila Waschak, Tel.: 05 7705-4540.

"The joint excursions to Prague and Prachovské skály with our Czech students are my personal highlights of the summer school in Poděbrady."

Michael Strobl, graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in International Business Relations

"The tandem lessons were at least as much fun as the excursions. Learning languages together with students who speak other languages is incredibly exciting."

Lisa Bernhard, graduate
