The highlight is the people

Susanna Gross came to business as a career changer, as she had always wanted to do something artistic.

She completed secondary school at the HTL Spengergasse in Vienna and specialised in art and design in the textile sector.

After graduating from high school, I decided that I still needed basic business knowledge and enrolled on the Bachelor's degree programme in International Business Relations at the Burgenland University of Applied Sciences.

The first year of her studies was a big challenge for her: "I found bookkeeping, accounting and cost accounting quite hard without any prior knowledge," she says. But after a year, she had reached a good level. "From that moment on, it was really fun."

After completing her Bachelor's degree, she went on to do a Master's in International Business Relations at the Burgenland University of Applied Sciences and learnt about the field of auditing in courses on auditing. She got a job at EY while she was still studying. She has remained loyal to the company for the last 12 years and now works there as a Senior Manager.

Susanna Gross finds the creative aspect of the job fascinating. "It may not be artistic, but it's still very creative. You need creativity every day - when dealing with people or finding solutions. The job is still varied and exciting and I really enjoy it."

The highlight for me will always be the people. Be it in my own team - we are a very colourful mix, international and diverse. But I also love working with customers. I gain insights into companies, get to work with exciting, smart people and am up close and personal when companies develop.
