Open information session with breakfast and a working group workshop
On 19 and 20 November 2026, the first SySI Net Care workshop will take place under the theme‘Care without borders? From obstacles to joint solutions’.The focus will be on cross-border challenges in the care sector and on a joint discussion of how these can lead to sustainable solutions.
The morning of the first day of the event , 19 November, is open to all interested parties. Following the welcome and opening remarks, there will be public keynote speeches on current issues relating to care and cross-border cooperation. The afternoon will be dedicated to collaborative work: in working groups, project stakeholders will exchange views, discuss key challenges and jointly develop solutions.
On 20 November, an excursion to Schattendorf will offer the opportunity to gain practical insights. During a visit to a selected care facility, the focus will be on concrete experiences and practical examples. A free shuttle bus from the Eisenstadt campus will be provided for travel to and from the venue.
We look forward to a fruitful exchange and to working together to break down barriers and develop new approaches to care!

Recurring event on current developments
91 per cent of students and 88 per cent of lecturers use AI – yet only half are truly harnessing its potential. This open lecture provides a concise overview of the key developments: Deep Research, agent-based functions, ChatGPT vs. Claude vs. Gemini, and NotebookLM as the discovery of the year.
But it’s about more than just tools. How is the role of the lecturer changing now that the ‘homework apocalypse’ has become a reality? What does the decline of written work as proof of competence mean for our examination culture? And how do we prepare students for a world of work in which AI is a constant companion?
Barbara Geyer is Professor of E-Learning and Knowledge Management at Burgenland University of Applied Sciences, Programme Director of the Master’s programme in E-Learning and Knowledge Management, and Head of the ‘Instructional Design’ unit. She actively implements the integration of AI into teaching and assessment formats herself and shares this knowledge through professional development programmes. She regularly shares her theoretically grounded and practice-oriented perspectives in online talks, on LinkedIn and on her blog on Substack.

The interactive online programme‘Clear Under Pressure — THE GOLD SELF™’is not a traditional motivational talk. It focuses on an inner mindset that makes motivation inevitable, and builds a direct bridge from elite sport to everyday practice: it transforms an Olympic principle into a tool that can be applied immediately to daily life at work and in higher education. Julia Dujmovits shows you how to apply strategies from elite sport precisely to the challenges of the modern workplace, strengthening your mental and physical systems so that you can perform sustainably at the highest level.
- Session 1 (19 January 2027) – Performance Flow on Demand: You will learn what ‘flow’ really means in moments of extreme pressure – where subtle nuances of presence determine victory or defeat, gold or silver. Julia Dujmovits demonstrates specific strategies from the Olympic starting gate to transform pressure into focus through targeted breathing exercises and visualisation.
