The Tandem Language Programme at University of Applied Sciences Burgenland brings together students from different countries with the aim of promoting intercultural language learning. It not only offers students the opportunity to improve their foreign language skills, but is also a great way to develop intercultural competence and make international friends.
The Tandem Language Programme matches two students with different native languages to help each other with language learning (e.g. an Austrian student helps a Croatian student to learn German, and the Croatian student helps the Austrian student to learn Croatian). In tandem learning, languages are learnt and practised outside the classroom in a relaxed atmosphere.
The Tandem Language Programme is open to students from the following universities: Aix-Marseille Université, Universitatea de Medicină și Farmacie „Victor Babeș” (Timișoara), Hochschule Burgenland, Hochschule Burgenland Weiterbildung, Humak University of Applied Sciences, International Burch University, Joseph Haydn Privathochschule, King's College London, Laurea University of Applied Sciences, Oxford University, Pädagogische Hochschule Burgenland, Sumy State University, Sveučilište u Zadru, Universidad de Salamanca, University of Aberdeen, University of Almería, Univerza v Mariboru and Uniwersytet Papieski Jana Pawła II w Krakowie.
