The University of Applied Sciences Burgenland brings special things together.
This applies not only to the students, but also to the teachers, researchers and staff. For this reason, UAS Burgenland presents various awards for outstanding achievements. First-class research, innovative teaching concepts and particularly innovative staff concepts are honoured.
Since 2007, the Pannonia Research Award has been presented for outstanding work on the topic of "Regional and European Future Issues" in the research areas of the UAS Burgenland. Lecturers(full-time/part-time) and researchers as well as young researchers (diploma students and graduates) can submit entries, whereby specialist contributions are awarded in the categories "Pannonia Research Award for Researchers" and "Pannonia Research Award for Young Researchers".
In 2019, on the occasion of its 25th anniversary, UAS Burgenland founded the "Pannonia Research Award Junior" for pupils from Burgenland, which has been awarded annually since then.
Since 2020, the city of Pinkafeld has also offered a research prize for young researchers. The special prize of the city of Pinkafeld is intended to motivate students and graduates of UAS Burgenland to research and publish in the fields of sustainability and health. Through the creation of the "Special Award of the City of Pinkafeld", outstanding work on the topic of "future issues in the research areas of sustainability or health" will be awarded or published.
With the Teaching Award, the UAS Burgenland puts innovative teaching in the foreground. Lecturers can submit their didactic concepts. The award honours concepts in the field of innovative teaching at the University of Applied Sciences within the Departments of Business, Information Technology, Social Affairs, Energy & Environment and Health. This year's call for entries will focus primarily on the use of AI in teaching.
The Employee Award is aimed at employees of the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland and its subsidiaries, who can submit their concepts for innovative ideas. These concepts may or may not have been implemented yet. The award honours concepts that are submitted by employees in relation to their respective activities in the departments or divisions of the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland. These include suggestions or ideas, e.g. for process improvements, innovations or optimisations from their own area of work.
Two new awards on important topics have been announced since 2022.
Equal opportunities and anti-discrimination are just two of the buzzwords behind the term diversity and require a lot of education and awareness-raising work. Through the creation of the Gender & Diversity Award at UAS Burgenland, outstanding work on these topics is awarded or published. This award is an initiative of the staff unit for Gender & Diversity and is aimed at students and graduates of the UAS Burgenland.
The International Award is intended to showcase the achievements of staff in the field of internationality and mobility, focusing on international projects, teaching and research activities as well as general activities in the field of international affairs.
