Sometimes I go to bed on Friday mornings after the hit night and when the lectures at the UAS start in the afternoon, it's only morning for me, so to speak.

Turning night into day
She gained her first presenting experience at the school radio station and was also involved in creating the school newspaper. "But then I realised that I just really liked speaking," she says - the ideal prerequisite for her first internship at Ö3.
In order to gain an in-depth understanding of the media industry, Emma Ströbitzer studied media management at the St. Pölten UAS, where she learnt about numerous areas from production and marketing to media management. A few internships later, she was offered a presenter position at Ö3. Since November 2021, she has hosted Hitnacht on Ö3 and works editorially on Treffpunkt Gästeliste, where celebrities present their favourite songs.
She is also studying for a Master's degree in Digital Media and Communication at the Burgenland University of Applied Sciences. This is surprisingly easy to combine with her job, she says. Emma Ströbitzer works nights up to 10 times a month.
In her programmes, Emma likes chatting to callers best. "It keeps you awake. You can hear the people who are going to a party or some are already out jogging at 4.30am. The kick for me is definitely talking to the people who are listening to me."
It is also important for her to "humanise" her studies.
The team spirit at FH Burgenland is great. You feel like you're in good hands and can talk to everyone at any time. What I have learnt a lot about is the online area - online communication, community management. How do I go about it? What is the theory behind it? Or media informatics - although I often find it a bit of a pain - but I can talk to people who work with the subject matter. That's often helpful.
