"My father and stepmother are both physiotherapists, so I was involved in this profession from an early age. I found the points of contact I had with this profession through my father and his wife very appealing."
The broad-based job profile of physiotherapy and the many different areas appealed to me, as it never gets boring in this profession.
"Despite my early contact with the physiotherapy profession, I hadn't thought about studying physiotherapy myself for a long time. When I was in junior school, I wanted to study medicine, but lost interest in this profession because of the long duration of studies. It was only after I realised that studying economics wasn't the right thing for me that I talked to my father about his profession and realised that I was interested in becoming a physiotherapist." The FH Burgenland is easy for him to reach from Wiener Neustadt and the number of students in a year group is low, which means that teaching can be very personalised and questions can be answered in detail.
I particularly like the practical subjects in which we learn treatment and examination techniques. In the subject "Basic Treatment", we were allowed to hold a training session with students from the HTL Pinkafeld at the end of the first semester. It was a great experience to be given so much responsibility and freedom of action so early on in the degree programme.

Erik has no regrets about his decision to study physiotherapy: "Perseverance and hard work pay off. Both the degree programme and the profession are practice-oriented and varied. In your professional life, you work with a wide variety of people, from children to pensioners and even top athletes. You have the opportunity to work in a future-proof profession in a wide variety of fields and to continue your education throughout your life."
