Expertise for the safety of the city
The graduate of the Bachelor's degree programme in Building and Energy Technology at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland is therefore an expert for the City of Vienna and is therefore involved in the safety of the city.
Heating systems, firing and ventilation technology - Philipp has been interested in these topics since his youth. He laid the foundations for his current profession early on: he completed his training and master craftsman's examination as a chimney sweep - more than just a job for him.
At the same time, he has always been involved in the volunteer fire brigade. This voluntary work became a career goal - and finally a reality: Philipp Scheidl now works for the Vienna Fire Brigade. There he completed the comprehensive training for professional firefighters and specialised - based on his previous experience - in operations involving carbon monoxide and combustion systems.
The dual function between emergency services and expert appraisal as an expert for the City of Vienna makes his everyday life particularly varied: no two assignments are the same, and the technical depth keeps him professionally challenged.
In order to further sharpen his foundations, Philipp specifically looked for suitable further training - with a clear goal: to gain a better grounding in technical and physical principles such as fluid mechanics, heat transfer or system hydraulics and an in-depth understanding of the interrelationships in building technology. He found what he was looking for in the Bachelor's degree programme in Building and Energy Technology at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland in Pinkafeld. What particularly impressed him there:

"The lecturers are proven experts, many of whom are successful in business and close to the real world. We were able to apply theoretical knowledge directly in laboratory exercises - exactly the bridge I need for my day-to-day work."

Reconciling studying and shift work was demanding and required careful planning. "They were challenging years in which I had to juggle work, attending lectures, studying and my private life. However, the knowledge I gained outweighs this for me," he says: with a sharpened eye for technical details and a sound scientific basis, Philipp gives his best professionally.
