Andreas Kerndler is deeply engaged with climate protection and renewable energy systems, both professionally and in his studies at UAS Burgenland.

He works in the B2C Solution department at Burgenland Energie, focusing on renewable energy. At UAS Burgenland, he completed his bachelor’s degree in Energy and Environmental Management and is now pursuing a master’s degree in Sustainable Energy Systems.

As a trained gas, water, and heating installer, his thirst for knowledge is immense. He took the second-chance education route, completing his professional maturity exam and attending a master school in mechatronics, before friends introduced him to the study programme at UAS Burgenland.

Professionally, he’s now exactly where he wanted to be. In product management, he works on photovoltaic systems and charging solutions for e-mobility.

During his Energy and Environmental Management studies at UAS, he was particularly fascinated by thermodynamics.

Energy process engineering is very exciting. I also really enjoy the project work during the course.

His company is very supportive of Andreas’ desire for further development. “There are many colleagues in our team who have also studied or are currently studying at UAS Burgenland,” he explains.

What he appreciates most about the university is the personal and familial atmosphere. “They really focus on the individual needs of the students. You’re not just a number.”
