Andre Thorwartl

24-year-old Andre Thorwartl from Vienna is starting a Bachelor's degree programme in International Business Relations at the Eisenstadt campus of the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland.

Bachelor International Business Relations: A degree programme that he specifically found for himself through online research. Even at a young age, Andre realised where his interests were leading him.

"I chose this degree programme because I have a great interest in economics and international relations"

Even before his studies, Andre gained plenty of experience in the International Skilled Labour Offensive of the Chamber of Commerce. There he was involved in various projects and events and was able to deepen his knowledge in a practical way. A key experience for him was an embassy event: "On this occasion, I was able to familiarise myself with the setting of international diplomacy, which further deepened my interest in this area," reports Andre. Another particularly formative experience was a two-month stay in Manila, where he worked in the commercial department of the Austrian embassy. This experience gave him a deep insight into international economic relations and confirmed his career path.

But Andre is not only enthusiastic about the innovative course content: "I was particularly impressed by the course content, the organisation of the course and the atmosphere. He is particularly looking forward to learning new languages, experiencing the excursion to Brussels and developing his professional skills.

In his free time, Andre values balance: sport at the gym and travelling. His openness, curiosity and ambition will also stand him in good stead during his studies.

Andre has clear goals for the future: After his Bachelor's degree, he would like to complete a Master's degree and then train as a business delegate. "I see myself working in the field of business delegation, in the Ministry of Economy or at the Chamber of Commerce later on," says Andre, who sees a lot of potential in his studies and his experiences in Manila and at the WKO as the perfect foundation for this path.
