Several graduates of the part-time Master’s Degree Programme in Human Resource Management and Labour Law at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland recently celebrated their graduation ceremony at Esterházy Palace in Eisenstadt.

Some of them come from Burgenland or have deep roots here and have deliberately chosen to pursue their education in their own region.

Take Lisa Bürger, for example, who was born at Oberpullendorf Hospital and now lives between Lockenhaus and Mannersdorf an der Rabnitz. The focus on labour law was the decisive factor in her choice of degree programme. Professionally, she works in the audit department for payroll taxes and contributions at the Federal Ministry of Finance (BMF) and is team leader for the whole of Burgenland as well as the districts of Neunkirchen and Wiener Neustadt.

Anna Schaden, born in Eisenstadt and living in Müllendorf, also decided to pursue a Master’s degree in Human Resources after completing her Bachelor’s in International Economic Relations at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland. She particularly appreciated the combination of HR, labour law and leadership, as well as the programme’s practical focus. “I was already very satisfied with the institution during my Bachelor’s degree, and the Master’s programme suited my requirements perfectly,” she explains. She now works as an HR manager in an international chemical company.

Jana Glöckner (not in the group photo), born in Oberpullendorf and now living in Kledering near Schwechat, completed her Bachelor’s degree in Health Management and Health Promotion at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland in Pinkafeld and went on to complete a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management and Labour Law. What she particularly appreciated about the Master’s degree programme was the varied curriculum, the legal focus and the fact that it was easily compatible with her job. Her career path took her from in-house HR into consultancy. Now – at just 26 years of age – she has set up her own business in HR consultancy / Professional & Management Search.

Michelle Reisner, also born in Oberpullendorf, completed her Bachelor’s degree in Business Consultancy at the University of Applied Sciences in Wiener Neustadt. The key factors in her decision to undertake her Master’s degree at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland were the course content, the proximity to her home and the online modules. She greatly valued the face-to-face interactions with her fellow students and currently works as an HR Business Partner.

These graduates impressively demonstrate that the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland, with its practice-oriented programmes, produces highly qualified specialists in HR and labour law – and that the course also attracts considerable interest within the region itself.
