I enjoy working with people

Leon Dlapa is studying for a bachelor's degree in physiotherapy at UAS Burgenland.

He has been very sporty since early childhood. Football, skiing and tennis - sport has always played a major role in his life. A few years ago, he also started going to the gym. "That's when I started to think about what the best training is and how the exercises actually work," he says.

A number of sports injuries in recent years have brought him into contact with physiotherapists. However, it was his experiences during his civilian service with the Red Cross that made him realise that the profession was also an option for him.

I had known for a long time that I didn't want to learn a profession where I only ever sat at a desk. At the Red Cross, I realised that I really enjoy working with people.

Leon Dlapa, student at the FH Burgenland

He applied for a place at four universities of applied sciences. He was accepted at two of them. He chosse UAS Burgenland in Pinkafeld.

"I find it really exciting that you learn so much about your own body that you didn't know before," says Leon. "You understand a lot more connections over time. There are also countless opportunities to deepen your knowledge and further your education. And working with people is always a great thing."
