I have fallen in love with the industry
Wine has always been a topic in her family. Her uncle is a winemaker and Julia has worked in wineries since she was young - in the wine shop, at tastings and finally in the export department.
It was here in particular that her Master's degree programme really helped her, she explains.

Studying, learning and discussing relevant topics with such exciting people from different backgrounds was incredibly beneficial for me. We learnt a lot from each other and gained a deep insight into many wine markets.

She gained a lot of knowledge around wine and marketing from her time at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland. She ended up in organic wine by chance.
"But I immediately fell in love with this part of the wine industry. I like the environmental concept, the philosophy and I like the flavour of the wines," she says. Judith Beck winery in Gols, where Julia works, has been producing organic and biodynamic wines very successfully for 20 years.
Out of professional interest, Julia researched the willingness to buy organic wines in Austria in her Master's thesis. There had hardly been any studies on this before. Read more about this exciting topic.
