In good hands with project management

She also decided early on that her Master's programme should follow on directly from her Bachelor's degree. "I want to be able to concentrate on other areas later in life, such as career and family," she explains. Mia has also known what she wants for a long time. She was already interested in project management at school and completed a Bachelor's degree in IT and project management at the BFI Vienna University of Applied Sciences.

Planning and organising suits the 23-year-old.

On the Business Process Engineering and Management degree programme at Burgenland University of Applied Sciences, she is particularly interested in process management, but Mia also finds the IT part of the new specialisation "Data Driven Engineering" very useful. She started her career with an internship at the management consultancy Accenture. She has been permanently employed there since autumn.

While all her fellow students were roughly the same age on the Bachelor's degree programme, the average age on the Master's degree programme at FH Burgenland is now significantly higher. Mia Beile sees having colleagues with professional experience as a positive thing: "I've only had one job so far, but many of my fellow students already have a lot of experience, for example as department heads or similar. At first I was worried that I might not be taken as seriously, but everything here is very much on an equal footing." The discussions between colleagues and course leaders are particularly exciting for the young student.

Her highlight from the first semester was the many practical courses. "We got to know different tools and modelled processes."
