Internship: Highlights Editor
Because he didn't really know that himself. Not even after his civilian service. Sport had always been his passion, but sports science was not. In the end, he came up with the idea of trying out sports journalism.
He is now in his fifth semester of a Bachelor's degree in Information, Media & Communication at the Burgenland University of Applied Sciences and is doing an internship at Sky Sport Austria.
There he is the "highlight editor" for the Bundesliga. His job is to make excerpts from the most exciting match scenes live in the studio for later reporting. Stressful, but exciting, says Daniel.

I just love sport, I enjoy watching sport and I think the job is great. I can definitely see myself doing something like this later on.
Daniel Hahofer, student at the FH Burgenland
He has also gained professional experience at BVZ and the Austrian Basketball Association (Basketball Austria) - he currently also works as Social Media Manager for the Burgenland basketball club Nord Dragonz in Eisenstadt. He also plays basketball himself in the national league - until two years ago even in the second national league. During his Erasmus semester in Rome, he even became champion with the university team there and is planning a student team together with the ÖH of the FH Burgenland.
How does he manage all this alongside his studies? "If the degree programme wasn't structured to enable me to work, none of this would be possible. I'm very grateful for that! The degree programme is absolutely practice-oriented, but I'm also very interested in the more theoretical and scientific courses."
