It went really well for me

Iris Ehrlich works in the marketing team at Hitradio Ö3, focussing on the digital sector.

She already knew at school that she wanted to work in social media.

The Bachelor's degree programme in Information, Media & Communication at the University of Applied Sciences  Burgenland appealed to me because it is so wide ranging conten-wise.

This proved to be the right path for her. She gained her first experience in content management during her studies - she managed the blog and social media channels for a company. The compulsory internship between her second and third year of study opened the door to the world of agencies for the young student. At the MMC agency, she was offered the opportunity to stay on after her internship.

"It was an ideal match. In combination with the teaching units at the university and my job, I was able to learn a lot. You could really say that the big picture was an ideal fit for me, because in the agency environment you learn a lot from a wide variety of areas - from social media editorial planning, SEO and SEA to photo shoots and the like."

During her time at the agency, she was offered a job at Ö3, where her focus is on online marketing. On the one hand, this involves brand communication, i.e. communicating Ö3 as a brand to the outside world. On the other hand, event marketing also makes up a large part of her work. "It's about collaborations, festivals, the Podcast Award or the so-called Christmas Miracle, for example, and presenting these in the best possible way on our digital channels."

She describes her job as very varied and that is also important to her. "I always want to learn and develop," emphasises Iris. "I would like to specialise in the field of classic marketing in the next few years, because I also find that very exciting."

When asked about her time studying at UAS Burgenland, Iris Ehrlich goes into raptures. "It went really well for me and one opportunity after another came my way. I'm very grateful for that. Looking back, it was particularly valuable for me to immerse myself in the Adobe programs during my studies and to do the specialisations. Whether InDesign, Photoshop or Premiere - I need this expertise almost every day in my job."
