Julia Frölich comes from Germany and is spending a semester as an Erasmus student at the FH Burgenland in Eisenstadt.

She is studying for a Master's degree in International Wine Marketing here and works at the Nehrer winery in St. Georgen. "I grew up in a winery, but first wanted to do something different professionally," she explains. She studied abroad in Australia and Spain and completed a bachelor's degree programme in international management. But Julia was drawn back to wine and is now studying at JLU Giessen and Hochschule Geisenheim University, currently in her second semester.

She finds her time in Burgenland exciting. "The study programme is organised in a very practical way. I'm sure I'll be able to take a lot with me for my future career. The study group is also very informal. I was given a great welcome."

What are her impressions so far?

I've noticed that the Austrians are somehow more relaxed. And: the Blaufränkisch really impressed me, I hadn't had it on my radar before. Networking with fellow students is also great. I've already visited Styria and the Wachau and tasted some excellent wines there.

Her favourite wine is and remains Pinot Blanc, which is also produced on her parents' farm.
