Our graduation in a double pack

Regina Gremel and Karin Pristavnik from the Master's degree programme in International Business Relations were the first students to complete their third semester at Ilia State University in Tbilisi as part of a double degree programme. In this blog post, you can find out what the double degree programme actually is and what highlights Karin and Regina have experienced during their studies so far.

Double Degree Programme - Facts at a glance

Selected Master's students specialising in marketing on the Master's degree programme in International Business Relations

  • study at the partner university for one semester,

  • complete two additional courses (Georgians, for example, learn the basics of German, FH Burgenland students take additional general management courses),

  • write their Master's theses in English with supervision from both universities

  • and take the final examination before a joint committee.

For these special achievements, they receive degrees from both universities: MA in Business and an MBA

The double degree programme was launched back in 2018 in cooperation with Ilia State University. The first exchange students from Georgia came to Burgenland University of Applied Sciences in February 2018. Regina, Dejan and Karin were the first students from FH Burgenland to complete the 2018/2019 winter semester at Ilia State University in Tbilisi.

Tbilisi here we come!

What made you decide to pursue a double degree and go abroad?

I had been dreaming of doing a semester abroad for a long time.

How difficult was it for you to manage the semester with regard to your job/private life?

I was lucky with my job.

It requires good organisation and support.

Impressions from Georgia

Regina, Dejan and Karin were kind enough to share some of their photos with us to give you an insight into the last semester of our students.
