Step-by-step guide to applying to Burgenland University of Applied Sciences
Here is a step-by-step guide to applying for a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programme at Burgenland University of Applied Sciences.
Once you have registered on our application portal , you will receive an access code by email. Do you already have an access code?If so, please log in using it. Registering allows you to edit or submit your application at a later date.
If you are already studying or working at Burgenland University of Applied Sciences, you can log in using your CIS account without registering.

To do this, simply select a degree programme and fill in your personal details, contact information and entry requirements.
At this stage, you will also need to upload the following documents as PDF files:
- Official photo ID
- E-card
- CV with photo; please list and provide evidence of any additional qualifications!
- School-leaving certificate (if not yet available, the highest qualification you hold) or proof of eligibility to study
- Letter of motivation
- Relevant only for applications to a Master’s programme: Proof of completion of a relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification. This may be submitted at a later date if not yet available. Graduates of Burgenland University of Applied Sciences are not required to provide this proof.
Note on entry requirements: The date for the entry requirement must not be in the future. If you will only meet the entry requirement at a later date (e.g. Matura or Bachelor’s degree examination in the future), simply leave the date blank.
Once your details have been checked to ensure you meet the entry requirements, you will receive a response from the programme office within a few days regarding the next steps in the programme-specific admissions process.
Depending on the degree programme, this may involve either just an admissions interview or, in some cases, an additional examination or similar. You can find full details of the admissions process for your chosen degree programme on the website under the ‘Admissions Process’ section. Once you have completed the admissions process, we will inform you of the result by email as soon as possible.
We are, of course, confident that you will pass the admissions process and be offered a place at Burgenland University of Applied Sciences. In that case, all you need to do is transfer the deposit of €350 to us within the specified deadline.
This deposit will be refunded to you once you have successfully completed your first semester. Should you fail to meet the entry requirements necessary before the start of your studies (e.g. failure to pass the post-school leaving examination, failure to pass the supplementary qualification examination, etc.), the deposit will also be refunded. In all other cases, the deposit will be retained.
Last but not least, you will receive a written invitation to enrol at Burgenland University of Applied Sciences. Enrolment takes place online between April and September. And that’s it: we look forward to welcoming you to campus very soon!
