Study programme also suitable for beginners

The interest in IT had been there for a long time, but it took a few years for Tanja to make the right career choices.

"I worked in the catering industry, but then realised that I didn't want to do that for the rest of my life," she says. Looking back and after all the lockdowns of recent years, she certainly made a crisis-proof choice by opting for IT.

In her search for a degree programme that was also suitable for beginners, she came across the programme offered by FH Burgenland.

For Tanja, IT as a vocation also means more independence. "You're more flexible in your job. Where you work, when you work. What's more, I can't imagine any area of my life in the future without IT."

As an Analyst Consultant in the Cloud and Custom Applications division at Capgemini, a consulting firm, she works as a programmer.

In addition to the exciting content at FH Burgenland, what she particularly appreciates is the great willingness to help among students and lecturers. "I was a bit nervous at first because I wasn't a specialist, but there's always someone willing to help."
