Sustainable = competitive + fit for the future
The forest and wood are his personal and professional passion. After completing his studies, he will take over his parents' farm on a part-time basis. This includes 41 hectares, half of which is forest. He was born with a connection to nature and the environment.

After completing his military service with the Burgenland Military Music Corps, he enrolled on the Bachelor's degree programme in Energy and Environmental Management at University of Applied Sciences Burgenland . He is now in the final semester of the Master's programme of the same name.
Parallel to his bachelor's degree, he began his professional career at Rubner Holzindustrie. In his role as Quality and Sustainability Officer, he is also involved in sustainability issues within the Rubner Group. Context: The Rubner Group is a South Tyrolean family business with 25 affiliated companies in four countries and 1500 employees. It is one of the leading and most efficient timber engineering companies in Europe.
Peter can apply the expertise from his studies 1:1 in his work. Especially from the lectures on sustainability, environmental assessment, the circular economy and management subjects such as quality and the environment.
Recently, Peter Gabriel has also become active in Committee 275 Circular Economy of Austrian Standards International.
He is also involved in organisations such as the Eichberg music band, where he is a member of the board, and plays in several music groups.
What motivates and drives him?
"It is important for our local businesses to be sustainable so that they remain competitive and fit for the future. You can often make a big difference with small changes. I also notice in my presentations that the headwind is becoming less and less."
