In this degree programme, she managed to combine her two passions: an interest in Europe and the field of international communication.
Marina is originally from Serbia and lives in Vienna. There she completed a Bachelor's degree in Media Studies and Communication, a Master's degree in Marketing and a PhD in Social Sciences and Communication. The Master's programme at FH Burgenland was the last academic milestone on her journey for the time being.
“I have always had a genuine interest in the EU as a body and see it as one of the greatest projects in human history”, she says. Its internal dynamics and international reach are particularly fascinating for her. Marina has gained professional experience in international organizations, including the United Nations in Vienna, and is grateful for her recent exposure to the workings of the Secretariat and Field Missions of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, also based in Vienna. "The small and subtle differences between people and nations can be enlightening, and for me those differences can also provide both the inspiration and the challenge in my day-to-day work.”
What she particularly liked about studying at FH Burgenland is the interdisciplinary approach, which equips students with knowledge of EU policies and legal factors as well as practical EU project management skills.
What has inspired me s lot is the diversity among the students. Working with colleagues from different cultural backgrounds, who all make their own unique contribution, has enriched my time at UAS Burgenland enormously. As a year group, we reflect the idea of Europe.
Marina Jovanović completed a Master's degree in European Studies - Management of EU projects at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland.
