Applying theoretical knowledge in practice

The new student has always had an interest in healthcare and nursing. This is also demonstrated by her relevant previous training as a geriatric carer and specialist social care worker in the disability sector. After working for Lebenshilfe in the disability sector for three years and gaining her first professional experience, Bianca finally decided to start a degree programme at Burgenland University of Applied Sciences. "A friend who had already completed his Bachelor's degree at the UAS and was currently doing a Master's degree told me about the programme and made me curious," says the 25-year-old. The student expects to gain a lot of theoretical knowledge from her studies and to be able to put this into practice in the future. In addition to her full-time studies, Bianca continues to work at the weekend as a carer for disabled people at Lebenshilfe.
