How to stay informed in times of corona?
Because our range of advice defies coronavirus-related social distancing. Depending on the current situation, we can assure you: Burgenland University of Applied Sciences is there for you either in person or online. In addition to the monthly Bachelor InfoLounge (next online date 5 February) in Eisenstadt and Pinkafeld, we also offer regular individual counselling appointments so that you can find the right degree programme for you in time for the application deadline in spring. Our information day is also on 12 March, whereby we will adapt the implementation (presence, online, etc.) to the current epidemiological situation at short notice. I don't have a school-leaving certificate yet, can I still study with you?
Yes, in addition to the general university entrance qualification (Reifeprüfung, Berufsreifeprüfung or Studienberechtigungsprüfung), it is also possible to start a degree course at FH Burgenland with a relevant apprenticeship/vocational training or after completing a vocational secondary school. All you have to do is pass an additional qualification examination.

What does part-time study actually mean for you?
In order to optimally combine work, studies and private life, our part-time courses are always organized on Friday afternoons and Saturdays. Depending on the field of study, attendance times can be organized on a weekly, bi-weekly or even monthly basis.
In the Department of Energy & Environment, the Bachelor's degree courses are offered in part-time or even extended part-time form.
Extended part-time means that the course is extended by a total of two semesters, resulting in a lower semester load. The modules to be completed are predetermined and take place at the same times as those of regular part-time students.
Can I receive a course timetable in advance?
To ensure an optimal balance between studies, work and private life, the attendance times of the part-time Bachelor's and Master's degree courses can be found one semester in advance on the website under “Facts about the degree course”.
The times and extent of distance learning units are agreed together with the students in the respective courses. The necessary technical requirements are also discussed.
For the “full-time” organizational form, you can generally expect courses from Monday to Friday.
Is attendance compulsory in the courses?
Yes, this is documented by attendance lists in the courses. The extent to which attendance is compulsory is indicated at the beginning of each course.
Is it possible to have something recognised and, above all, what can be recognised?
In short: Yes, you can. However, the head of degree program decides on a case-by-case basis which previous education will be credited. In order to receive credit for a course, an application must be submitted to the relevant degree program office before the course begins.
When does the semester actually start?
The winter semester starts at the beginning of September. The summer semester starts after the end of the semester break (end of February/beginning of March). You can find detailed and up-to-date information about the semesters in the academic calendar.
What costs should I expect?
There are generally no tuition fees at FH Burgenland. Only the ÖH fee of currently € 20.70 is charged each semester.
If you have been accepted for a place, you will have to pay a deposit of € 350. This will be refunded to you once you have successfully completed your first semester.
