We cannot take our health for granted

Christiane Staab

Iris Fleischmann chose the Bachelor's degree programme in Health Management and Health Promotion at the Burgenland University of Applied Sciences.

"I've always been very interested in health. I've been focussing on my diet and exercise for years. I also wrote my pre-scientific thesis on healthy eating," she says. Her goal: to work in the health sector. She came across the bachelor's degree programme in Pinkafeld through research.

She particularly liked the high proportion of team and group work on the programme. "It was exciting to work on projects and content myself."

She is particularly interested in the topic of workplace health promotion. She completed her internship at Graz University of Technology.

Beginning this autumn, she would like to continue her studies at UAS Burgenland in the Master's degree programme in Health Promotion and Human Resource Management.

This is her motivation for a career in the healthcare sector:

You should do something for your health before you fall ill. Many people take their health for granted, but health promotion and prevention in particular will become even more important in the future. I would like to contribute to this.
