Sport - and very successfully
Amila Gojak is studying healthcare and nursing at the Campus Gesundheit Burgenland in Oberwart. "I've always been interested in health issues and I really want to work as a nurse in a hospital after my studies," she says. Amila has been doing karate since she was five years old - for the Austrian national team for four years. The reigning Styrian national champion and 2015 national champion in the female seniors -61kg category trains every day after FH.
"I don't find learning difficult, partly because everything interests me so much. I often study in the car when we're travelling to competitions and my coach understands if I'm sometimes late because of the FH - he's right behind me."
Of course you need ambition to be able to combine studying and sport. But since I want both so much, I can do it.
Art as a balance
Lucas Dinhof completed his Bachelor's degree in IT Infrastructure Management with a specialisation in system and network security at the Burgenland University of Applied Sciences in 2015.
He works as an IT specialist for a well-known international company directly on Schwarzenbergplatz in Vienna. Lucas Dinhof is also a freelance artist and mainly paints abstract works, but also ornaments. His artworks and current work can be found directly on his website.
"My artistic work is also a visionary creation, far from reason and madness, living out positive individualism in a socially critical yet harmonious way and encouraging other people to go their own way in harmony with other people, other living beings and the environment," says the artist.
Charitable commitment for women and children
Anna Schmölz is studying for a Bachelor's degree in Information, Media & Communicationat the Burgenland University of Applied Sciences anddevotes her free time to a charitable organisation - the Soroptimists.
"At our monthly meetings, we plan our charitable projects, among other things, through which we support women's refuges, disadvantaged children or individual families in need. The members of the soroptimist clubs are well connected and are happy to sacrifice their free time to help others."
From autumn 2017, the student will be President of the Soroptimist Club Eisenstadt for two years. The 34-year-old began her studies because she was looking for a new career direction. "I work in marketing and am using the very interesting, subject-specific degree programme for my professional development," says Anna Schmölz about her decision to study.
This international association with clubs in Austria and many other countries consists exclusively of women. We support women, girls and children.
