Students shed light on the special, spine-straining situation of advertising professionals in their daily work with cameras and handling technical equipment.

Students at FH Burgenland advise advertising agency Kings & Cake

The advertising agency Kings & Cake, based in Wiener Neustadt, was the project partner of a group of students. The challenge was to take into account the different work tasks of the employees. On the one hand, this involved handling and transporting the technical equipment, heavy cameras and film equipment. Furthermore, the background work, which includes many activities in the office area and thus many hours in front of the PC, had to be taken into account and, finally, optimal interventions for the employees had to be offered.

Problem solving from three different angles

The project focussed on three areas: The sub-project "Working - but the right way" provided information, tips and suggestions on ergonomics in the workplace. This was combined with a 20-day challenge that included various exercises for strengthening and mobilisation.

"Make Kings & Cake Fit" was the task of another project group. This group attempted to teach employees the best lifting and carrying techniques for heavy (film) equipment. It also carried out a joint strengthening programme and a presentation with background information as part of a webinar.

Another group pursued the goal of motivating employees to move more at and around the workplace and launched the "We give 110%" project. The declared aim was to achieve 10% more steps at work within a certain period of time and thus integrate more exercise into everyday life. The students support the employees in developing and implementing strategies to achieve this goal.
