Several hundred graduates accepted the invitation from the Alumni Association, led by Barbara Kramer-Meltsch, on Friday. Many had studied in the Energy & Environment and Health & Social Care departments based in Pinkafeld, whilst some also came from the ‘Eisenstadt’ departments of Business and Information Technology. They took the opportunity to explore the new campus on guided tours, catch up with old friends and, in some cases, even celebrated their graduation anniversary.
In their statements, Rector Bettina Schauer-Frank, Managing Director Georg Pehm, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Verena Liszt-Rohlf, the President of the Hochschule Burgenland Alumni Association Carina Hörting, and the representative of the Department of Energy & Environment, Lukas Bader, pointed out the university’s strong and close ties with its graduates.
The newly elected mayor of Pinkafeld, Adrian Kubat, praised the excellent cooperation between the university and the local council, which is set to be further strengthened by the new campus.
Accompanied by live music and good food, the university’s extensive network was strengthened even further. Coming Home Day made it clear that Burgenland University of Applied Sciences is closely connected with its alumni, who today hold key decision-making positions around the world.
