Approved and ready to go: New Master’s in Wine and Food Marketing

Wine Tasting Exercise

The focus, which has so far been on wine, is being extended to the food sector.

The excellent feedback confirms it: the part-time Master’s Dgree Programme in International Wine Marketing at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland is to become the Master’s in Wine and Food Marketing. It starts in September.

Eisenstadt, 4 August 2026. The University of Applied Sciences Burgenland has received excellent feedback from experts on the reorganisation of its part-time Master’s Degree Programme in Wine and Food Marketing. The report recommends accreditation without conditions.

The new programme was also reviewed by external assessors. The report now available recommends accreditation without conditions. “We can be proud of this; it’s a rare occurrence,” says programme director Marcus Wieschhoff.

Above all, however, it confirms that we are on the right track and that, as a university dedicated to economic and social change, we have the right answers.

Response to current developments

The external review confirms the quality of the programme’s content and its forward-looking approach. The report particularly highlights the clear structure of the curriculum, its strong practical focus, its academic rigour and the expansion to include the food industry. In this way, the degree programme responds to current developments in the wine and food markets, changing consumer behaviour and new demands on marketing, sales and brand management. “The new focus makes it clear that the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland is on the right track with its vision and is committed to offering degree programmes that are in tune with the times,” says Georg Pehm, the university’s managing director, with delight.

A few places still available

The Master’s programme is aimed at those who wish to shape their careers at the interface between the wine and food industries – for example, in marketing and brand management, product and innovation management, exports and sales, retail marketing, communications and event marketing, or in the strategic management of regionality and sustainability concepts.

The part-time Master’s programme begins in autumn 2026 at the Eisenstadt campus. There are 25 places available on the four-semester, part-time programme – only a few places remain. Further information and the option to apply can be found at www.hochschule-burgenland.at
