Silvia Ettl-Huber, Head of the Department of Economics
An interview with Friedrich E. Seeber:
Professor Seeber, what led you to th field of law?
First and foremost, the desire to understand contracts. As a young person and above all as a musician and artist, I was repeatedly in the situation of being contractually bound without being able to put all the details into a tangible, understandable context and to understand what this actually means or can mean for me. Gap recognised, gap closed. The desire to understand the law and legal contexts led me to study law and over time it became more and more of a passion.
You also avoid seeking legal advice here and there, which can certainly be a costly affair.😉
How did you get into teaching?
I was given the opportunity to work as a student assistant during my studies at Leibniz Universität Hannover. As a result, I came into contact with the preparation and organisation of teaching at a very early stage. I owe the opportunity to organise tutorials and later entire courses independently to an academic network that has developed and deepened over the years.
What do you enjoy about teaching?
The opportunity to pass on experience, impart new knowledge and be the spark that ignites a passion for learning in others.
What excites you about the Burgenland University of Applied Sciences?
The fact that there are framework conditions in which professional and personal development can take place, the good and personal atmosphere at the university, the opportunity to be able to do things and the creative freedom this gives you, from which you can benefit both personally and professionally.
What would you like to pass on to young people?
Stay passionate in everything you do. Take responsibility for your happiness, because happiness is when (your) ability meets opportunity.
