New partnership: BHAK/BHAS Oberpullendorf and University of Applied Sciences Burgenland

Eisenstadt, 24 September 2026. What is university life like? What options do I have? How do I carry out academic work? Many questions arise during the final years of school leading up to the school finishing exams. BHAK/BHAS Oberpullendorf has now brought the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland on board as a competent educational partner to help pupils make the transition to the next stage of their lives.

A taste of university life on the timetable

As part of the partnership, regular school visits are organised for "Matura classes". During these visits, pupils and teachers receive information about the range of degree programmes offered by theUniversity of Applied Sciences Burgenland and about possible credit recognition when starting a degree programme. In addition, joint activities such as workshops, lectures or visits to the university’s study centres are planned.

Another key focus of the collaboration is access to academic resources: pupils can use the University  library at its Eisenstadt and Pinkafeld campuses free of charge for research relating to diploma and project work, as well as for their final Matura project. Access to electronic databases of academic journals is also available.

Collaboration with no fewer than seven degree programmes

Furthermore, credit transfer options have been established for graduates of the BHAK/BHAS Oberpullendorf for certain modules, including those in the fields of accounting, business administration, bookkeeping, cost accounting and the fundamentals of computer science. The partnership thus supports a seamless and practice-oriented transition to a degree programme at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland.

The partnership includes the following bachelor’s degree programmes: Health Management and Health Promotion; Information, Media & Communication; International Sustainable Business; International Business Relations; IT Infrastructure Management; Software Engineering and Connetcted Systems; and Business Informatics.
