Research prize for pupils
Eisenstadt, March 31 2025 - The submission of a project, diploma or final project (formerly VWA) is an important milestone on the way to the Matura (A levels). The students have been working on these over the past weeks and months. "Very good" candidates can submit their work for the Pannonia Research Award Junior 2025 at the Burgenland University of Applied Sciences. The application deadline is 30 April.
Opportunity for pupils in Burgenland
"Last year, we were able to honour excellent work by high school graduates from Burgenland and are looking forward to exciting submissions again this year," says Gernot Hanreich, Rector of Burgenland University of Applied Sciences. All high school graduates from schools in Burgenland are invited to submit their project, diploma or departmental theses or final papers (formerly VWA) to the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland for the Pannonia Research Award Junior. A specialist jury consisting of experts from the university will assess and judge the theses and the best thesis in each of the three categories will be honoured, as well as a special prize.
For the first time, podcasts and video works can also be submitted in line with the changes in the AHS sector.
Awards
A prize of € 300 will be awarded in EACH of the following categories: Business, Information Technology, Health & Social Affairs and Energy & Environment.
For works that do not fall into any of the categories, a special prize of € 100 will also be awarded.
Conditions of participation
- High school graduates from a Burgenland school in the 2024/25 school year
- Assessment of the work as "very good"
- A project, diploma or departmental thesis or a final thesis depending on the type of school must be submitted
- Submissions by individuals as well as groups are possible
Time frame
The work must be submitted by 30 April 2025 at the latest by email to hochschulpreis(at)hochschule-burgenland.at with the following information
- Name, address, e-mail and telephone of the submitter and supervisor, school
- curriculum vitae
- Abstract of the work max. 1,000 characters (topic, objective, research question)
- Paper (pdf format or link to podcast or video by e-mail)
The award ceremony will take place on 18 June 2024, 5 p.m., at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland at the Eisenstadt Study Centre.
