UAS Burgenland joins UN Global Compact

Die FH Burgenland ist eine nachhaltige Hochschule und erweitert ihr internationales Netzwerk.

Intense efforts in the areas of sustainability and corporate responsibility have characterised UAS Burgenland for years. The university has now joined the world's largest initiative, the UN Global Compact, which has more than 25,000 participating organisations worldwide, more than 250 of which are in Austria.

Eisenstadt/Pinkafeld, 10th of September 2024. 17 universal goals, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), lie at the heart of comprehensive and global efforts to achieve greater sustainability. Of course UAS Burgenland is also committed to these goals. It therefore made sense for those responsible to join the UN Global Compact, which breaks down these goals into ten principles in the areas of labour standards, human rights, environmental protection and anti-corruption. UN Global Compact is a worldwide pact concluded between companies and the UN in order to make globalisation more social and ecological.

We have been teaching and researching sustainability, climate protection and the common good for many years. A great deal of knowledge is pooled at our study centers and we feel responsible to act as multipliers. It is therefore with great conviction that UAS Burgenland also promotes the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact.
