Intensive language weeks that are fun.
The International Business Relations course at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland has been organising summer colleges lasting several weeks in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Russia, Croatia and Poland since 1999. Due to public funding, applications from all Austrian universities and universities of applied sciences are expressly encouraged (for the Czech Republic and Slovakia also from teacher training colleges).
The aim is to learn and improve language skills in local language lessons, partly through tandem lessons - one Austrian student learns together with a student from Central and Eastern Europe. In addition, the students gain an insight into the business practice of the host country through company visits and lectures. Excursions to places of interest are also part of the programme.
The programme is funded annually by the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research, the Austrian-Slovak Action and the Austrian-Czech Action. The participation fees for students are therefore particularly attractive. Further information can be found at the online database for grants and research funding - grants.at.

"The joint excursions to Prague and Prachovské skály with our Czech students are my personal highlights of the summer school in Poděbrady."
Michael Strobl, Bachelor International Business Relations graduate
"The tandem lessons were at least as much fun as the excursions. Learning languages together with students who speak other languages is incredibly exciting."
Lisa Bernhard, graduate
