She gained the qualifications for this job on the Energy and Environmental Management Master's programme at the Burgenland University of Applied Sciences. One of the decisive arguments in her favour was that you can also do this course as a non-technician.
"I completed a Bachelor's degree in Export-Oriented Management and then worked in auditing. As sustainability had been an important topic for me in my private life for a very long time, I went in search of an academic qualification and ended up at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland in Pinkafeld," she explains.
After working at the Austrian Power Exchange and XXXLutz, she has now arrived at Fabasoft, exactly where she wanted to be.
Sustainability is a top priority at Fabasoft. As Sustainability Manager, Eva Emathinger-Rauch is responsible for making the company even "greener" - and thus preparing it for a climate-neutral future.
My day-to-day work is very varied. A big part of it is creating Fabasoft's carbon footprint. To do this, I collect data, analyse it and evaluate it. I then prepare the information so that it can be published in our sustainability report. Over the next few years in particular, we will also increasingly be dealing with EU legislation.

She does not see climate protection as a burden for companies, but as an opportunity for innovation and new business opportunities.
Experts like Eva will be much more in demand in the coming years than they are now. This is another reason why she encourages others: "Training and further education in this area has a lot of potential. You shouldn't be put off by the complexity of the subject matter. It's a varied field in which you can make a contribution."
