Lecturer Benjamin Schaffer himself has always been interested in technology. He completed the HTL for environmental technology in Weiz and then a bachelor's degree in building and energy technology and a master's degree in building technology and building management at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland in Pinkafeld. "What I appreciate about the industry is the wide range of opportunities to generate new ideas. The drive is to always be one step ahead," emphasises the lecturer.

He specialises in the project development and planning of technical building systems and plants in the field of renewable heat supply. At Stadtwerke Gleisdorf in Styria, he has recently been responsible for strategic, technical and economic planning in the specialist area of heating networks. Prior to that, he gained 10 years of experience in project development, planning and management of projects in the field of technical building equipment as well as in the field of research and development in an engineering office.

Benjamin Schaffer has been teaching at his old university since 2018. "I value the contact with my young colleagues and am happy to pass on my knowledge."
