The healthcare sector is one of the most complex and dynamic fields of work in our society. Well-trained specialists and managers are indispensable here.

One of them is Lisa Baumann, who has been working in a clinical environment for several years and has gained further qualifications with the Master's degree programme in Health Management and Integrated Care at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland. She particularly appreciates the breadth of the programme's content and its strong practical orientation.

"Working in the healthcare sector enriches me every day and always offers new challenges. The degree programme has helped me to expand my professional foundation in a targeted way"

Lisa Baumann, Master's graduate in Health Management and Integrated Care

Even at a young age, Lisa knew that she wanted to work in the health and care sector to support people professionally. After completing her training, she had the opportunity to work in inpatient care for several years and took on management roles early on. She currently works in a private clinic as head of the anaesthesia care department and was instrumental in setting up an inpatient eye day clinic, where she has primary responsibility for care. Study contents such as project development, process management and modern care structures are an integral part of her everyday work.

Lisa sees the fact that she was able to combine her work and studies well as an important factor. The clearly structured attendance days in conjunction with the flexible online courses enabled her to combine her professional duties with the study phases in a meaningful way. Thanks to her openness, curiosity and ability to work in a team, she was able to achieve outstanding results during her studies. These qualities enabled her to absorb new information quickly, actively contribute and collaborate effectively with colleagues.

In her current role, she and her team want to continue to drive forward high quality standards and remain open to new developments.

"Openness, curiosity and a positive view of the future often open exactly the doors we need."

Lisa Baumann, Master's graduate in Health Management and Integrated Care

She advises first-year students to keep an open mind, be curious and get actively involved, both professionally and in dialogue with colleagues. A lot of content only becomes clear over the course of the degree programme, so it's worth sticking with it and asking questions.
