Clara Peter, a graduate of the Digital Media and Communication master's programme at Burgenland University of Applied Sciences, won one of the two sponsorship awards for science and media from VÖZ - Association of Austrian Newspapers 2023.

She received the Hannes Haas Young Talent Award for her master's thesis, in which she researched incentives to increase the willingness to pay for digital content.

Clara Peter has been interested in the media industry for as long as she can remember. "For a long time, I didn't know which direction I wanted to take," she says. She studied journalism for a few semesters, completed a bachelor's degree in film, television and media production at the University of Applied Sciences BFI Vienna and gained professional experience in TV production and editorial assistance. In the end, he realised that this part of the industry did not generate the expected enthusiasm.

After a long journey through Asia, a job offer was waiting in Clara's letterbox. The daily newspaper die Presse hired her as a content and campaign manager. She was soon responsible for the entire e-commerce area. "My focus was always on customer loyalty. I dealt intensively with the challenges of the industry - how to find and retain customers." She stayed for a total of four years.

When she started her Master's degree in Digital Media and Communication, Clara began working as a project manager in an advertising agency. Studying alongside her full-time job was challenging. Nevertheless, she managed to complete her degree in four semesters and a Master's thesis, which was honoured with the VÖZ's Science and Media Award.

She currently works as an audience management developer at Puls 24.

Thematically, my new job builds on my master's thesis. I develop strategies on how we can address our users correctly and well so that they remain loyal to us. So I look at everything from a user perspective, analysing performance figures, innovations and trends. What's particularly great about it is that it's a new area in the company and I can play a big part in shaping it.

Clara Peter, graduate of the FH Burgenland

In addition to the exciting content from her degree programme, Clara also has a great network from her time at FH Burgenland. "We all came from the industry and yet we were very diverse as a group and benefited from each other."
