She completed a college for social pedagogy in Baden and then a master's programme in social work with a focus on social management at the FH Joanneum in Graz. During her studies, she discovered her interest in personnel development and came across the Master's degree programme in Human Resource Management and Labour Law at the FH Burgenland during her research. "After 20 years of working in the social sector, a new focus presented itself to me. The degree programme also brought me back to Burgenland after 13 years," says the native Bosnian, who has also felt at home in Burgenland since her youth.

Selma Jahić completed her degree at the Burgenland University of Applied Sciences in March 2022. The last semester also saw a career change for her.

ENIC NARIC AUSTRIA is part of the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research and is responsible for recognising the academic qualifications of people who have migrated to Austria.

"We take care of the recognition and assessment of higher education qualifications obtained abroad," explains Selma. Private individuals, NGOs or even authorities and companies can contact her with questions.

She finds the international cooperation exciting - for example with other ENIC NARICs in Europe and overseas - as well as the endless variety of education systems that exist.

Her highlights from her studies at FH Burgenland are the professional and practical, very high-quality expertise and the great practical relevance. "Of course, it was also a great challenge for me as a career changer and sometimes pushed me to my limits," she says. In terms of content, she has a full rucksack of knowledge and expertise from her studies. The broad spectrum ranges from HR management and HR development to labour law and all its facets.
