DETAILS ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS BACHELOR BUILDING AND ENERGY TECHNOLOGY
Approximately 50 applicants are admitted to the Bachelor's degree programme in Building and Energy Technology at the University of Applied Sciences every year.
Applications received by the University of Applied Sciences Bachelor of Science in Building and Energy Technology within a set deadline will be considered in the admission procedure for the coming academic year. Registration takes place via the online registration.
Personal admission interview
The admission interviews (individual appointments) take place from March onwards. The contents of the admission interview range from the subject area of previous education and personal access to the Bachelor's degree programme at the University of Applied Sciences to any existing professional experience and future professional expectations of the applicants.
Decision on admission
The applicants are assessed, ranked and notified of their admission. Applicants without a firm acceptance will be placed on a waiting list and will be moved up in the case of non-admitted applicants. Applications that are submitted late can only be considered if there are free study places.
Deposit
After the binding allocation of a place, University of Applied Sciences Burgenland collects a deposit of € 350 from students to secure their place. This deposit is refunded to active students after the end of the first semester. If an applicant does not fulfil the admission requirements before the start of the programme (e.g. did not pass the resit of the school-leaving examination, did not pass the additional qualification examination, etc.), the deposit is also refunded. In all other cases, the deposit is forfeited.

Burgenland University of Applied Sciences is an official training partner of buildingSMART Austria, which promotes the development of Building Information Modelling (BIM) skills in Austria, among other things. BIM experts and universities developed the optimised multi-level BIMcert training in the bim-ZERT project. The training partners use trainers certified by buildingSMART and thus maintain a high level of training.

Graduates work in companies and organisations involved in the design, planning, tendering, execution and construction, site supervision, operational management, refurbishment, analysis and optimisation of building services systems and installations. In doing so, they view building services engineering, with its interactions with the building, its users and environmental factors, as an integrated system. They also understand that buildings must be considered in the context of other buildings with regard to energy supply (e.g. at the level of Local Energy Communities).
Project managers in building services engineering coordinate complex construction projects from the initial concept through to completion. They plan technical systems such as heating, air conditioning, ventilation and energy supply, and ensure that everything works together seamlessly.
In doing so, they keep a close eye on time, costs and quality, liaise with architects, construction companies and clients, and make important decisions.
Sales engineers combine technical expertise with strong communication skills. They advise customers on modern building services solutions, such as innovative heating systems or smart control systems. In doing so, they explain complex products in an accessible way, draw up quotations and oversee projects right through to commissioning. They act as the link between technology and the customer and help ensure that sustainable solutions are put into practice.
Building managers ensure that technical systems in buildings run smoothly – from heating and ventilation to energy supply. They monitor operations, plan maintenance and identify early on where improvements can be made. With a trained eye for energy efficiency and sustainability, they develop optimisation measures, carry out refurbishments and work closely with service providers and property owners.
