MEETUp! FrauenMUT in Burgenland

After the research work on the topic, the main activity between the symposium in autumn and the end of the project was networking and discussing the results in the regions with many different people in a wide range of institutions.

The Women's Day week was launched in cooperation with the Burgenland Chamber of Labour and the Women's Department of the Province of Burgenland in the MEETup directly following the project.

The successful networking in the project provided this great opportunity for a joint event!

The programme showed the diversity of the topic and provided insights into women's lives in Burgenland. On the initiative of Deputy Governor Astrid Eisenkopf, 16 courageous Burgenland women were presented for the first time in an exhibition at the beginning of the event.

This was a link to the project and at the same time clearly visualised the potential that exists in Burgenland. The portraits show women who work in and for Burgenland, what drives and encourages them and the diversity of women's lives!

The exhibition also opened the MEETup and led into the Insight on the results of the study on the "Against Women's Poverty" project. David Stöhr and Elke Szalai gave the participants an insight into the procedure, the research methods and the results as well as an initial outlook on measures and further project ideas. The topics that guided the entire project were briefly summarised. These were employment and access to education, affordable housing, infrastructure and mobility, self-esteem and stigmatisation, knowledge transfer, society and care.

These topics were discussed interactively with the experts on the podium, moderated by Head of Department Manfred Tauchner. Even before the MEETup, there was a digital "wall of questions" and questions could be asked in the lecture theatre using an online tool. The experts, with whom the Frauen(AR)MUT project had already worked together, presented additional facts and data from their professional and everyday practice and gave all participants an insight into their fields of activity.

The final networking session was used intensively to drive forward further concrete measures and ideas in particular. It was clear that there is still a lot to do, a lot of knowledge is available that now needs to be translated into action, but there is a lot of energy and desire for implementation.
