You've found the right degree programme at FH Burgenland, you meet the admission requirements and after your application the invitation for the admission interview has fluttered into your e-mail inbox? Congratulations!


The only thing left to clarify is the question: What is the best way to prepare for the interview or entrance exam? By the end of this blog post, you will be ready for the admission procedure.

Interview, assessment or test?

In some Bachelor's degree programmes at FH Burgenland, the admission procedure "only" consists of an interview with the head of the degree programme. We have a few useful tips for you on how to make a good impression on the head of the degree programme:

In a few other Bachelor's degree programmes, a written test is also held. We will go into these below and give you some tips. You can also find detailed information on the admission procedures on the respective programme page under "Application and admission".

Multi-stage application and admission procedure

1. single-choice test: Moodle Test:

This is a written aptitude test that tests general central intellectual as well as specific medical-physiotherapy skills. Questions from the following categories are asked with regard to the requirements of the degree programme and future physiotherapy work:

  • Language comprehension/expression (German and English)
  • Logical and networked thinking
  • Numeracy
  • Concentration and memory skills
  • Spatial visualisation
  • General health-related knowledge
  • Ability to make decisions in certain situations with patients

You can find examples of the possible content of the areas in relevant literature on the subject of test and applicant training (internet search terms: study ability tests, intelligence test, cognitive performance test, etc.).

2a. practically oriented, job-specific aptitude test: in small groups at the study centre in Pinkafeld

  • This is a practical aptitude test to check your job-specific and physical aptitude. The following abilities and skills are assessed at several stations:Observation skills
  • Manual dexterity
  • Motor learning and coordination skills
  • Empathy
  • Dealing with certain therapy situations
  • Ability to work in a team


2b. Admission interview

In the form of an interview, an initial impression of the applicant's suitability for the programme and profession should be gained. The content of the interview may relate to career and study motivation, CV and training, ability to reflect and perform, ability to work in a team and the like.

  • Spatial visualisation
  • General health-related knowledge

  • Spatial imagination
  • General health-related knowledge

The invitation to the two further stages of the admission procedure requires successful completion of the first stage. UAS Burgenland will inform you by e-mail no later than 2 weeks after you have completed the written test whether or not you have been invited to the further admission procedure.No information will be given by telephone.

3. speech therapy aptitude test

An initial impression of your aptitude for the programme and profession will be gained in the form of a profession-specific aptitude test and an interview.The job-specific aptitude test includes an analysis of your pronunciation, facial and tongue muscles, voice, breathing and verbal and written language skills.The content of the interview can relate to career and study motivation, CV and training, ability to reflect and perform, ability to work in a team and the like.

Your written application documents (letter of motivation, curriculum vitae, form of application, etc.) are also decisive for your ranking in the admission procedure.

4. medical aptitude test

The medical aptitude test includes a phoniatric examination (stroboscopy).The medical aptitude test gives an impression of your aptitude for the programme and profession.

3. job-specific aptitude test

In the form of a job-specific aptitude test, an initial impression of your study and job-specific aptitude is to be gained.The job-specific aptitude test includes the assessment of job-specific skills and abilities (e.g. dexterity, motor coordination skills, creativity) as well as social-communicative skills such as empathy, self-reflection or social behaviour through individual tasks and tasks in a team.

4. admission interview

The content of the interview can relate to career and study motivation, CV and training, reflective and performance skills and the like.

Your written application documents (letter of motivation, curriculum vitae, form of application, etc.) are also decisive for your ranking in the admission procedure.
