Pitching projects: A key competence
Professionally, he works as a Cloud Solution Architect and Strategic Technical Lead at the ORS Group - Austrian Broadcasting Services. There he plans, manages and implements IT projects in the Amazon Cloud (AWS).
Working in and with the cloud has become his passion. When asked how he got into IT, he recounts a key experience in his youth: as a 14-year-old, he repaired his brother's laptop with the help of YouTube videos and online research. Inspired by this, he attended a technical college for information technology, learnt to programme and used his knowledge to assemble his first three gaming PCs himself, among other things.
After graduating from a technical school, he started his career as a systems engineer at Frequentis. As part of a trainee programme, he deepened his knowledge of operating systems such as Linux and Windows, quickly took on responsibility and was deployed internationally. He was involved in the planning and implementation of remote tower projects - including in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Buenos Aires (Argentina) and several locations in Germany.
At the ORS Group, he deals with modern technologies for media productions in the cloud. "I design and implement cloud-based workflows - including live broadcasts, video streaming and high-performance content delivery infrastructures. I work closely with technical teams and stakeholders to realise scalable, reliable and efficient cloud solutions for modern media production. This is still relatively new in Austria - but already established in other countries," explains Antonio.
He presents the innovative products he is helping to develop at renowned trade events such as the NAB Show (National Association of Broadcasters) in Las Vegas or at the MBT conference in Opatija at the end of May. He feels well prepared for these pitches thanks to his studies .

You have to practise pitches - and that's exactly what we did regularly during our studies. I benefited greatly from this and have now developed a lot of routine.
Antonio Pipinic, student at the Burgenland University of Applied Sciences
Antonio has nothing but praise for his degree programme: "Everyone at Burgenland University of Applied Sciences really does a great job. The content is practical - I use many of the technologies I learnt directly in my day-to-day work. However, the way I approach problems today has had a particular impact on me: more systematic, solution-orientated and with a better understanding of interrelationships in complex IT architectures."
Antonio's enthusiasm for IT also characterises his private life: his partner Melanie Galic is now studying for a Bachelor's degree in IT Infrastructure Management at Burgenland University of Applied Sciences. Their shared dream: to one day work remotely from their home in Croatia - all possible thanks to the cloud.
