Podcast #21: The most frequently asked questions about starting your studies
The podcast can be found on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and other popular platforms. You can also find our other podcast episodes on our website under the "Podcast" tab.
How does a part-time degree programme work here? Does the programme really cost nothing at FH Burgenland? And can I have school subjects recognised? Especially at the beginning, when there are no points of contact, the world of higher education can seem very confusing and overwhelming. But don't worry: our graduates and UAS employees Bianca Nastl and Sabine Koch provide clarity in the new podcast episode and answer the most frequently asked questions about starting your studies.

We were both in that situation and know what it feels like to be overwhelmed by all that the university world has to offer. But it's worth it once you've found your way.
Sabine Koch, Graduate and employee of the FH Burgenland
You don't choose a degree programme lightly. The subject area itself must suit you just as much as the university where you are studying. It is therefore worth clarifying a few basic questions beforehand, which may also help you make your decision. Starting with the differences between a university of applied sciences and a university, through to our admission procedures and the question of whether there is such a thing as knock-out exams at FH Burgenland: With the new podcast episode, we would like to take one step off the hands of our prospective students who want to find out more about studying alongside their job or while preparing for their A-levels.

Finding the right degree programme is no easy task. But it's worth it if you trust your gut feeling: ours didn't disappoint us.

Behind-the-scences
The podcast was recorded by Bianca Nastl and Sabine Koch, employees of the marketing department at Burgenland University of Applied Sciences and graduates of the university themselves. Sabine has completed both the Bachelor's degree in Information, Media and Communication and the Master's degree in Digital Media and Communication: ‘It was definitely unusual to come to the university as an employee rather than a student. It's really exciting to see what happens behind the scenes. I also believe that you can best represent the university as a graduate.’
