Swimming against the tide
She is currently studying two computer science-related degree programmes. Business Informatics at the FH Wiener Neustadt and Software Engineering and Networked Systems at the UAS Burgenland.

What fascinates me about programming is the fact that, in the end, something does what I want it to do.
Katharina Waldner, student at the UAS Burgenland
She sees getting started in an industry in which women are generally underrepresented as more than positive, because "I've always found swimming against the tide really great. I find it particularly exciting as a woman to be able to leave a footprint in this sector."
Her professional goals lie in agile software development. She finds the creative component fascinating. But she doesn't have a five-year plan.
She found her first year at the UAS Burgenland to be quite a challenge from a professional perspective. "Not everything came to me. But I also want to be challenged."
