Training during study breaks

Felix Schmidl started kickboxing at the age of six. At the age of 10, he was part of the Austrian national team.

At the European Championships in November he hopes to qualify for the 2025 World Games in China.
Felix is studying for a bachelor's degree in physiotherapy at UAS Burgenland and has already successfully completed the first year of his studies, in which anatomy takes up a lot of time on the curriculum. "Yes, the course workload is intense and we learn a lot," he says. How is that possible alongside competitive sport? "Time management is everything. After uni, you cannot procrastinate,  then it works out. And exercising during study breaks is also good for your concentration."
He is enthusiastic about the degree programme itself and explains:

My sport was the decisive reason for me to apply for a place on a physiotherapy study prograsmme. I'm really enthusiastic about the way knowledge is taught at UAS Burgenland. We have a lot of practical courses in which we work hands-on right from the start. This is ideally combined with theory in the degree programme. I'm very interested in everything so far. Professionally, I can imagine going into sports physiotherapy later on.

Basically, he is convinced that the health sector will become increasingly important. "For anyone who likes working with people, physiotherapy is the coolest career choice for me," he emphasises.

Now he is looking forward to his second year of studies. Sports-wise his plan is to compete in  as many international tournaments  possible. He has gained the Euromean gold medal once before. Maybe this will be possible again. We keep our fingers crossed.
