The further training of skilled workers should be a key priority for companies. The Austrian company PKE has recognised this. Thanks to a new partnership, current and future employees can study building technology at Burgenland University of Applied Sciences whilst working part-time.
Pinkafeld/Vienna, 7 July 2026. The Building and Energy Technology (Bachelor’s) and Building Technology and Management (Master’s) degree programmes at Burgenland University of Applied Sciences are stepping up their collaboration with PKE Energy Automation GmbH in the field of practice-oriented academic training.
As part of the partnership, employees are given the opportunity to complete a part-time Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at Burgenland University of Applied Sciences alongside their work at PKE Energy Automation GmbH, thereby gaining in-depth knowledge in the fields of building services engineering, building management and energy engineering. The combination of practical professional experience and academic training creates the ideal conditions for qualified and future-oriented career development. The part-time degree programme is specifically designed to enable students to balance work and study.
For more than 30 years, the university’s Pinkafeld campus has been regarded as a training ground for building technology professionals. Expert teaching staff, alongside state-of-the-art study and research facilities, ensure that graduates are in high demand both nationally and internationally.
Collaboration with companies through projects, field trips or even research projects is hugely important for the university in order to maintain a connection with the sector’s current issues and needs, explains Werner Stutterecker, Head of the Bachelor’s programme in Building and Energy Technology.
