Franz Knipp, Programme Director of the Bachelor’s degree programme in Software Engineering and Networked Systems, and Lecturer Patrizia Sailer from the Department of Information Technology took part in this multi-day exchange alongside national and international experts.

The organisers put together an unrivalled programme that impressed on both an academic and creative level: From the innovative Ferris wheel speed-dating session, which offered a relaxed way to get to know one another, through to workshops and panel discussions with high-profile experts such as Stefanie Panke, Renate Motschnig and Helmut Stemmer, to interactive tasks such as freeing ‘Kaspar from prison’ or hoisting flags they had designed themselves.

The evening programme was also impressive, featuring a spectacular fire show, a visit to the Museum of Curiosities and a cosy get-together over punch in excellent company.

Franz Knipp and Patrizia Sailer took the opportunity to engage in in-depth discussions with fellow professionals and forge valuable new contacts. For Patrizia Sailer, the week was not only a professional journey but also a personal one. Reuniting with her former web development tutor, Gerald Geier, was a particular highlight, reminding her of her own early days as a student and underlining the importance of inspiring teachers.

The event also provided opportunities for excellent discussions with colleagues such as Benedikt Brünner, who impressed with his innovative approaches to teaching. A special thank you goes to the Innovation Foundation for Education, which made this exceptional professional development programme possible.
